Macau Red Cross volunteers and staff helped street clearing
After the catastrophic typhoon Hato is over, Macau Red Cross
(MRC) is extremely concerned for the Non-emergency Medical Transfer Service
users and their homes. Depending on the level of damages, appropriate assistance
will be provided to this underprivileged group, and help them a speedy restoration
of their normal daily livelihood.
The Non-emergency Medical Transfer Service remained on standby
state during the attack of the typhoon. Immediately after No. 8th cyclone warning
signal was lowered, while still with rainstorm, team members resumed busily
shuttling hemodialysis patients between hospitals and their homes. Their mission
was to make sure they would receive timely treatment to protect their physical
and mental health. MRC also shows solicitude for their homes that may have been
terrorized by the typhoon. MRC deploys its staff and volunteers to evaluate
the current condition and collaborates with the following enthusiastic organizations,
including Architects Association of Macau, The Macau lnstitution of Engineers,
Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers, Association of Macau
Engineering Consultant Companies, Macau Construction Association and Macau Construction
Machinery Engineering Association to provide urgent home repairs for their safety.
MRC is also busy acquiring cleaning and disinfection household items to reinstate
their healthy homes and personal life, and to prevent possible epidemic outbreak.
Now the typhoon has gone and tide receded, but left the city
with chaotic amount of silt, trash and fallen trees. Enthusiastic MRC volunteers
and staff members spontaneously participating a project to reconstruct a beautiful
environment of Macau. They helped to clear the unenlightening materials on the
surrounding streets of the MRC headquarters. MRC readily cares for the community¡¦s
need, and a timely provision of humanitarian assistance aftermath of the merciless
typhoon Hato attack.
