The first aid certificate courses have been conducted by our experienced instructors._ All the courses, focused on both theoretical and practical aspects, are geared to the needs of students in different age groups._ It is hoped that our students, after completing these courses, can apply what they have learned and provide assistance to those in need, and to protect themselves as well as others.

Macau Red Cross School has been registered with the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, and is recognized by the Macau SAR for providing first aid courses.

Total 6 hours of teaching:@2 hours per day for 3 days.
Course Contents:
Aims of First Aid:@Prevention of accident injuries; Muscle and joint injuries; Spasm; Bandaging; Treatments of burns and wounds.

@First Aid Knowledge Course

Class Size:

12 - 20 students

Schedule:
Total 12 hours of teaching:@3 hours per day for 4 days._ Written and bandaging examination on 5th day.
Course Contents:
Aims of first aid:_ Assessment of casualty; Asphyxia (suffocation); Management of Choking; Bleeding & shock; Soft-tissue injury; Recovery of position; Poisoning; Management of wounds and bandaging and Fixture of fractures, etc.
Certification: First Aid Knowledge Certificate

@Adult First Aid Course

Class Size:
14 - 16 students
Schedule:
Total 27 hours of teaching:@3 hours per day for 9 days._ Written examination on the 10th day for the following areas:_ Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (by single); Bandaging of wounds and fixture of fractures; Assessment of casualty and repositioning.
Course Contents:
Principles of first aid; Assessment of the wounded; Asphyxia (suffocation); Management of choking; Bleeding & shock; Burns; Poisoning; Trauma; Soft-tissue injury; Internal emergencies; Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (by single); Recovery position; Poisoning; Management of wounds and bandaging; Fixture of fractures and transporting, etc.
Certification: Adult first aid identification, course certificate and first aid badge.
Fees (MOP): 700 (Fees including: _3 triangle bandages, 2 rolls of bandages, 1 mouth and face protection mask, and 1 copy of first aid handbook. )

@Advanced First Aid Course

Class Size:
12 - 14 students
Schedule:
Total 21 hours of teaching, 3 hours per day for 7 days._ 1 day (6 hours) outdoor demonstration and practice; Written and simulative operation examinations for 2 days.
Course Contents:
Revision of contents of Adult First Aid Course; Auxiliary treatment of airway and breathing (including use of oxygen); Use of AED; Positioning and transporting of the wounded; Regulations of the ambulance crew; Analysis of tools and equipments in an ambulance; Knowledge and practical operations of tools and equipments.
Certification: Advanced First Aid Course identity card, course certificate and first aid badge.

@Adult First Aider Refresh Course

@Automated External Defibrillation Course

Class Size:
4-8 students
Qualifications: Age 16 and above._ Possession of Adult First Aider certification
Schedule:
4 Hours, including examination
Course Contents:
Anatomy and physiology of the heart; Electrocardiogram of cardiac arrest rhythm; Operation and maintenance of automated external defibrillation provider.

@Lifeguard Training Course

Qualifications:
1. Age 16 or above (on commencement day), and in good physical conditions.
2. Possession of Macau Red Cross Adult First Aider certification.
3. Able to finish swimming 400 meters within 12 minutes (any style) and capable of diving 20 meters in depth.
4. Interested in rendering Macau Red Cross services to the general public.
Course Contents: Basic life-guarding and first aid techniques; Self rescuing and survival techniques; Lifeguard swimming; Entering into water; Bare-handed diving; Use of floating and diving equipments and searching; Self-defense and releasing; Approaching a victim; Carrying a victim; Lifting and removing a victim onto shore; Rescuing in sea and river; Boating safety; Harmful marine creatures.
